Elaine is an experienced employment lawyer with over 25 years’ expertise supporting organisations to navigate the complexities of employment law with clarity, confidence, and care. A co-founder of People & Purpose, she partners with clients to create fair, legally robust people practices that protect organisations while treating people with dignity and respect.

Before establishing her own consultancy, Elaine was a partner in an Edinburgh law firm, advising organisations of all sizes across disciplinary matters, grievances, TUPE transfers, redundancies, restructuring, and Employment Tribunal claims. She is known for her calm, pragmatic approach and her ability to translate legal requirements into practical, workable solutions for leaders and HR teams.

Elaine holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Glasgow. Clients value her steady guidance, her approachability, and her talent for making even complex issues feel manageable.
